Sessions Typically take about 2.5 – 3 hours so I don’t recommend you make additional plans on the day of your session. All newborns are different and some need a little more patience when creating your beautiful artistic portraits. I am incredibly patient and gentle work with your newborn with each pose. If you have requested a certain pose I will do my best to capture that but cannot guarantee any specific artistic pose as safety and comfort of your newborn is my number one priority.
Booking & Planning
I recommend that you book your newborn session while you are still pregnant if you can. Of course it is difficult to “book” a date when we aren’t aware of when the baby will arrive but a tentative booking based on your due date allows me to plan out dates ahead of time (especially if you require a weekend).
The best time to bring baby in for their session is between 7 and 12 days new and up to 20 days. Babies are very flexible and sleep in a very deep sleep in the first two weeks of life but if you require a session later than 20 days that can be arranged. We can still capture those newborn poses but, may need additional time as they are more aware of their surroundings and can stir more.
(For boys who are being circumcised book your session prior to the procedure or after he has healed).
Digitals and Prints
All sessions include 25 digital images of your choice to download. Prints and products are additional and located in your online gallery for purchase if desired. You can view samples of products while at the studio during your session. The high resolution, hand-edited digital images are delivered 2-3 weeks after the session via online gallery for you to share. Your gallery is password protected and can only be shared with whom you allow. The gallery is no permanent and only remains online for 30 days.
The Studio is located at my Halton Hills home, just outside of Milton, ON. It has a large sitting and lounge area for your to relax in while I tend to portraits of your newborn. There is a changing station complete with diapers, wipes and all the other items you may require. The studio also has refreshments and snacks but it is recommended that if you have older siblings you may want to pack snack items suitable for their age.
What to Bring
You don’t have to bring anything but milk/formula! The studio is fully stocked with fabrics, newborn outfits, props, bowls, baskets, blankets and much more.
